Rehabilitation of veterans: materials for doctors and patients

The INgenius NGO, together with the IREX team, translated and adapted into Ukrainian practical guidelines that will help in the management of veteran patients in accordance with international standards. All materials used for translation and adaptation were taken from evidence-based scientific sources.

The materials are divided into professional materials for doctors and general materials for patients. Among the materials for doctors you will find recommendations on the most common physical health problems of veterans:

  • Stump care
  • Treatment of osteomyelitis after gunshot wounds
  • Management of patients with barotrauma
  • Care for pressure ulcers
  • Medical therapy of pain
  • Spinal cord injury - management of spasticity
  • Spinal cord injury - neurogenic bowel

The materials for patients include:

  • Exercises after limb amputation
  • Rules of care for the stump
  • Control of chronic pain

This became possible thanks to the Veterans Reintegration Program implemented by IREX with the support of the U.S. Department of State. The contents are the sole responsibility of the NGO INgenius and do not necessarily reflect the views of the U.S. Department of State and IREX.

We would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on the materials via the link.
